God’s invitation to come closer, to experience more freedom, to deepen our joy in the mystery of life, is always present.
We often are too busy to notice.
Give yourself the gift of silence and solitude.
Take time away from busyness to seek God.
Allow yourself to rest in God’s presence and Divine Love.
What is a Sabbath?
A Sabbath is a designated time away from friends, family, work and responsibility. It is time set aside for you to know God in new and deeper ways. A Sabbath may happen individually or with a group of people. Time is spent in personal reflection, practicing spiritual disciplines and noticing the movements of the Holy Spirit within your
own body, mind and life.
What happens at a Sabbath?
A Sabbath includes periods of reflection and focusing, silence and
solitude, sharing and deepening as you reflect upon your journey with
God. You are invited to rest, play, experiment, enjoy, and risk as you
allow the Mystery of God to direct your time and to draw you deeper.
You are supported in noticing the presence of God in your activity or
non-activity and reflecting upon its meaning in your life.
How long is a Sabbath?
A Sabbath can be designed to fit any time frame: a morning, a day or
several days. It may take place in any setting, for example, a retreat, a
center, a church, a park. |
